Featured Student: Montana Fallin

Montana Fallin is an Environmental Policy and Planning major with a double emphasis in Planning and Design and a Sociology and Geography minor.

When do you plan on graduating? I plan on graduating Spring of 2021.

Why did you major in EPP? The EPP program is actually what brought me to UWGB. I began my college experience at UW- Milwaukee where I took an amazing course on urban planning. Unfortunately, Urban Planning was only offered as a minor there and I wasn’t quite sure what I would want to major in. So, I started looking for other programs. The EPP program was a perfect fit for me! The emphasis on the relationships between the built environment and the natural environment was incredibly appealing. EPP does a great job of combining my passion for the environment with a field that I was very interested in. The design emphasis was added to the major last fall and that has also helped my career plan of becoming an urban planner tremendously.

What are your plans for after graduation? After graduation I would like to attend graduate school and get a Master of Urban Planning.

What academic experience or accomplishment are you most proud of?  Last semester I interned at Bay Lake Regional Planning! At the end of the semester they won the Community Partnership Award! I really enjoyed being apart of such a great company and seeing community partnerships form. This internship was also a wonderful opportunity for me to learn more about the field that I am planning on going into

What single thing do you hope to accomplish at UWGB before graduating?  By the time I leave UWGB, I hope to bring us back to our Eco-U roots. I have had a great opportunity through Student Government where I serve as the Executive Chair of Environmental Affairs to make this a reality.

What do you do for fun? During my time here, I have discovered a passion for outdoor recreation! I spend most of my weekends camping or outdoors in some form.

What else do you want people to know about you? Green Bay has also instilled a love of travel in me! Through various organizations I have gotten to travel all over the country. I spent winter break 2019 in Hawaii, Spring break 2019 on the Appalachian Trail, traveled all over the midwest on various weekends throughout the school year, and I am headed down to Florida for winter break 2020!
