Ali Hanson is a triple major in History, Political Science, and Democracy and Justice Studies with a minor in Humanistic Studies with an Emphasis in Cultures and Values.
When do you plan on graduating? Spring 2020
Why did you major in History, Political Science, and Democracy and Justice Studies? I started out as a history major with the intentions of becoming a high school teacher. I decided I was more interested in research than teaching high school. In that interest I decided to take a course to test out the DJS waters. After taking Historical Perspectives, I decided I needed to add a DJS major. Shortly following this decision I upgraded my previously declared political science minor to a major. The three majors compliment each other as they encompass many angles of study.
What are your plans for after graduation? I plan to do research and analysis.
What academic experience or accomplishment are you most proud of?
In my senior seminar in history we created a website on W.E.B. DuBois and I was a project manager.
What single thing do you hope to accomplish at UWGB before graduating? I hope to have an internship with local government.
What do you do for fun? I like to listen to music and go for walks or go out to dinner with friends.
What else do you want people to know about you? I am an intern with the Voyageur this semester and over the summer I was an intern at the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
