Common CAHSS 2021: Teaching the History and Literature of the Holocaust

Common CAHSS 2021: Teaching the History and Literature of the Holocaust: A Roundtable Discussion of an Interdisciplinary Approach to Holocaust Studies with Mark Karau, Valerie Murrenus-Pilmaier, Tabatha Zwicky, Cari Mattson, and Charles Kriescher was recorded live on Monday, November 29, 2021.

This is a roundtable discussion of our HUM 483: The History and Literature of the Holocaust Learning Community with perspectives from the instructors and students. We feel that this course is transformative for both its content, interactive nature, & reflection on who determines what “true” means.

The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences for the third annual Common CAHSS Conference 2021 event themed “Truth, Information, Misinformation, and Democracy,” sought to explore the role of the modern university in supporting the “continual and fearless sifting and winnowing by which alone the truth can be found,” which has been part of the University of Wisconsin identity for over a century.

This Common CAHSS 2021: Truth talk was recorded in Studio One in the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts.
