
Projects in Sustainable Literary Citizenship: Undergraduate Editing of Thoreau and Mary Seacole

Students will discuss their transcription, encoding, and editing of sections from writer, activist and naturalist Henry David Thoreau’s WALDEN (1854) and the memoirs of “doctress” Mary Seacole Jamaican-British witness of the mid nineteenth- century British Empire’s global cholera pandemic. Presented by the English 400: Capstone class.
