Game Writing Projects

Class: English 310: Topics in Game Writing: Interactive Fiction Class

Faculty Sponsor: Dr. Julialicia Case (English)

The following projects were created by students this semester in Dr. Case’s ENG 310 Topics in Game Writing: Interactive Fiction class. Some of these projects are still in-development.

Bitsy Projects: These projects were created using the free program Bitsy, which uses simple artwork and animations to tell a visual story. Use the directional keys on your keyboard to navigate these games.

Inform Projects: These pieces were created using the free program Inform 7, which is used to create text-based interactive fiction pieces. To navigate these games, try typing simple commands like “look at flowers” or “take key.” Movement through the world generally happens by typing directions, such as “south” or “northwest.” It may be useful to make a map as you explore.

Twine Projects: The projects were created using the free program, Twine, which is used to create hypertext interactive fiction pieces. To move through these pieces, click on the links, and be aware that some projects may use delayed text.

  1. Super cool games, they remind me of Atari games! I like the choices in music too, they fit well with their respective games.
